LYNCHBURG, Va. - Senior Tyler Bradshaw scored three goals on four shorts while senior goalie Kevin Freidenberg stopped an impressive 17 shots on goal to lead the Swarthmore men's lacrosse team (1-2), but Lynchburg scored five unanswered goals in the decisive second period to lead the Hornets past the Garnet 12-7 on Wednesday afternoon.

LANCASTER, Pa. - Six Swarthmore student-athletes were named to the fall All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team today. The Centennial's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee created the team to emphasize sportsmanship within the Conference. LANCASTER, Pa. - 35 Swarthmore College student-athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the 2009-2010 winter season. The honor roll recognizes athletes' performance both on the court and in the classroom.
To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, a starter or key reserve on his or her team or have qualified for the Conference championship meet. The student must maintain at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.

LIST OF DIII FINALISTS
ATLANTA, Ga. - Junior Kathryn Stockbower of the Swarthmore College women's basketball team was named a finalist for the NCAA Division III State Farm® Coaches’ All-America Team by the WBCA on Tuesday afternoon.
Stockbower joins 40 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team. Read the rest of this entry »

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The unusually-chilly Arizona weather did little to cool off the smokin' hot Garnet bats, as the Swarthmore College baseball team (3-0) scored 16 runs on 17 hits to defeat Pitt-Bradford 16-10 on Tuesday afternoon from Desert Edge High School in Goodyear.
Sophomore third baseman Anthony Montalbano led the offensive onslaught with four hits, including a double. Senior Wiley Archibald knocked in four RBI on two hits while Miles Santo brought home three runs with a bases-clearing double in the eighth inning. Freshman Tim Kwilos added three singles. RESULTS
SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Swarthmore College outdoor track & field teams headed south to beautiful Savannah, Georgia to open up the 2010 season, competing in the Savannah State Tiger Relays over the weekend.
The Garnet women opened the season in record-breaking fashion, as the distance medley relay team of senior Mariel Feigen, sophomore Margret Lenfest, sophomore Katie Gonzalez , and freshman Rebecca Hammond broke the 16-year old school record with a time of 13:32.36. Read the rest of this entry »
