Records Fall on Day 1 of Centennial Conference Track & Field Championships; Lehmann, McMinn Lead Swat

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Muhlenberg’s Alexa Faust broke the Conference, meet and venue records in the pole vault, clearing 12-08.75 to earn her fourth consecutive Centennial Conference pole vault championship to highlight the first day of the Centennial Conference Track & Field Championships from Swarthmore College on Friday.

No. 2 Haverford Handles No. 3 Swat Baseball 15-3 in Playoff Opener

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Making its Centennial Conference playoff debut, the No. 3 Swarthmore College baseball team (19-18) was roughed up by No. 2 Haverford, as the Fords pounded out 15 runs on 14 hits to defeat the Garnet 15-3 on Friday afternoon from Haverford.

With the loss, the Garnet will now face No. 4 Washington in an elimination game from Johns Hopkins tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

Youngblood, Kelm Named All-Centennial

LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore Stephen Youngblood and sophomore Zak Kelm of the Swarthmore College men’s tennis team have both been named to the Centennial Conference All-Conference team, the Conference announced on Friday afternoon

Youngblood is a first-team selection while Kelm makes the second team. Youngblood and Kelm also combined to earn second-team honors in doubles.

Wallwork Named Centennial Performer of the Year for Third Consecutive Season; DuBrin, Rosenblum Also Honored

LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior Rachel Wallwork was named Centennial Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Year for the third consecutive season, while sophomore Rosie DuBrin and freshman Emily Rosenblum were also honored as second-team singles selections, the Conference announced on Friday afternoon. Wallwork and Rosenblum also earned first-team doubles honors.

Four Garnet Named to All-Centennial Conference Baseball Team; Stan Exeter Named Coach of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. – Four members of the Swarthmore College baseball team – senior Jimmy Gill, senior Wiley Archibald, sophomore Anthony Montalbano and sophomore Spencer Ross – have been named to the All-Centennial Conference baseball team, the Conference announced on Wednesday afternoon. Swarthmore head coach Stan Exeter was also honored, as he was named the Centennial Conference Coach of the Year.

Gill, Archibald, and Montalbano were all second-team selections, while Ross was honorable mention.

Garnet Baseball Edged by Rutgers-Camden 6-5

CAMDEN, N.J. – Junior Ben Schneiderman, sophomore Spencer Ross and sophomore Mike Waterhouse all finished with two hits apiece, but Rutgers-Camden scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning – thanks in part to two Swat errors – as the Scarlet Raptors defeated the Swarthmore College baseball team 6-5 on Tuesday evening from Campbell’s Field.
