No. 6 Garnet Tie McDaniel 1-1 in Rain-Shortened Game

WESTMINSTER, Md. - The No. 6 Swarthmore College men's soccer team scored on an own goal by McDaniel's Max Rutherford in the 55th  minute, as the Garnet (13-1-1, 5-1-1) earned a 1-1 tie with homestanding McDaniel in a game that was called with just over 12 minutes remaining in regulation because of heavy rain and unplayable field conditions.

Winning Streak Snapped As Volleyball Falls to Gettysburg 3-0

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -  The Swarthmore College volleyball team (18-7, 6-2) saw its season-high five-game winning streak come to an end as the Garnet fell to Gettysburg 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Genny Pezzola led Swat with 13 kills and eight digs.

Second-Half Goals Propel No. 23 Garnet to 3-1 Victory at Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The No. 23 Swarthmore College women's soccer team (12-3, 6-2) scored two goals within a two-minute span in the second half as the Garnet defeated Gettysburg College 3-1 on a rainy Saturday afternoon from the Battlefield.

Sophomore Hannah Deming scored late in the first half to give Swat the lead heading into the half, while juniors Hannah Purkey and Liz Mills scored in the the 61st and 63rd minutes respectively, breaking a 1-1 tie and giving the Garnet a crucial road victory to solidify its spot in the upper-echelon of the Centennial Conference.

Field Hockey at Gettysburg Postponed Until November 1

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Saturday's scheduled Centennial Conference field hockey match between the Swarthmore Garnet and the Gettysburg Bullets has been postponed until Sunday, November 1 because of the threat of thunderstorms across Central Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon.

No. 23 Garnet Strike Twice in Second Half, Defeat Ursinus 2-0

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Home sweet home.

After 22 days without a home game at the friendly confines of Clothier Field, the No. 23 Swarthmore College women's soccer team (11-3, 5-2) finally returned back to campus and picked up an important conference victory, getting second-half goals from junior Kelsey Cline and sophomore Emily Coleman to defeat visiting Ursinus College 2-0 on Wednesday evening from Clothier Field Stadium.

Sophomore goalkeeper Marie Mutryn made six saves to earn her seventh shutout of the season, while the Garnet backline - anchored by junior Laura Bolger and senior Eileen Earl - limited the Bears to very few scoring chances.
