November 2nd, 2009Led by key seniors and talented underclassmen, the 2009-10 Swarthmore College women’s swimming team has high hopes of repeating and even exceeding the success of the program in recent years. That recent success includes three straight top-three finish at the Centennial Conference Championships and three-consecutive years of scoring points at the Division III national meet. McLarney, D Annunzio Named Academic All-District by ESPN the Magazine
November 1st, 2009SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore College men's soccer players Brett McLarney '12 and David D'Annunzio '12 were named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II Team as voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced recently. McLarney is a first-team selection while D'Annunzio earned third-team status.

October 31st, 2009SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Seniors Julia Luongo and Maggie DeLorme certainly made it a Senior Day to remember, as the Class of 2010 pair each scored a goal in their final home game at Clothier Field, as the No. 20 Swarthmore College women's soccer team (13-4, 7-3) overwhelmed visiting Franklin & Marshall 4-0 on a rainy Saturday night at the College.
Newman Nets Two as No. 6 Garnet Defeat Rival Haverford 4-2
October 31st, 2009HAVERFORD, Pa. - Junior defender Gage Newman - who missed the previous game because of an illness - returned to the pitch in style, scoring two second half goals to help lead the No. 6 Swarthmore College men's soccer team (14-1-2, 6-1-2) to 4-2 victory at rival Haverford on Saturday afternoon.
Dynamic scorers sophomore David Sterngold and junior Morgan Langley also scored in the first half for the Garnet to conclude the regular season with a victory.
McMinn Paces Cross Country Men at Centennial Championship
October 31st, 2009GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Freshman John McMinn made a strong debut running at his first Centennial Conference championship, leading the pack for the Swarthmore College men's cross country team with a 21st-place finish (27:59.96), helping the Garnet earn a sixth-place team finish (51) at the championship race on Saturday afternoon from Gettysburg College.
Dickinson captured the team championship (6) and had the top four individual finishers. Red Devil senior Greg Leak won the individual title (26:30.71).
Volleyball Loses Tough Conference Showdown to Franklin & Marshall 3-1
October 31st, 2009SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Garnet (18-9, 6-4 CC) volleyball team suffered a tough 3-1 loss to a visiting Franklin & Marshall squad Saturday afternoon to round out their regular season play. Sophomore Genny Pezzola had 11 kills and 29 digs but still remains three kills away from the Jen Wang's single season record of 361.
