LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore men's soccer team had four student-athletes named to the All-Centennial team, as announced Monday. Junior Morgan Langley and sophomore Micah Rose were named to the first team, while sophomore Brett McLarney was selected to the second team and junior Gage Newman was honorable mention. WESTMINSTER, Md. - Senior All-American Anne Miller (1000 freestyle, 200 freestyle), freshman Hannah Gotwals (200 IM, 100 backstroke) and freshman Daniel Duncan (1000 freestyle, 500 freestyle) each won two individual races to lead the Swarthmore men's and women's swimming teams to decisive victories against McDaniel in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon. The Garnet women (2-0, 1-0) earned a 56-38 victory while the men (1-1, 1-0) won by a 56-39 margin.

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Looking to make its first Centennial Conference final in program history, the Swarthmore volleyball team (19-10, 6-4) won the third set and was competitive for the entire match, but it wasn't enough as No. 25 Haverford (28-3, 10-0) defeated the Garnet 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Johns Hopkins' John Scheuch scored just his second goal of the season in the 34th minute and the Blue Jay defense held the powerful Swarthmore offense scoreless for just the second time this season, as No. 3 seed Hopkins avenged last year's Centennial Championship game loss with a 1-0 upset victory over the No. 2 seed Garnet on Friday night from Varsity Field at Muhlenberg College. With the win, the Blue Jays advance to Saturday night's Centennial Conference championship game against the winner of the No.1 Muhlenberg/No. 4 Dickinson semifinal, while dashing the Garnet's hopes of a repeat conference championship.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Centennial Conference playoff run for the Swarthmore College women's soccer team (13-4-1) ended in heartbreaking fashion as No. 5 seed Dickinson (14-3-1) advanced past the No. 4 seed Garnet 5-4 on penalty kicks Wednesday evening from Clothier Field Stadium. Tied 1-1 after 110 minutes, the Red Devils and Garnet saw the first nine shots of the penalty kick shootout find the back of the net until Swarthmore senior Julia Luongo's shot was stopped by a fantastic save from Dickinson goalkeeper Kailyn Hartmann on the 10th and final shot to end the game.

CHESTER, Pa. - The Garnet women swam to victory over Widener University 114-79, but the men fell short, losing to the Pride 118-87 in both squad's season-opening event on Wednesday night from the Schwartz Center. Senior All-American Anne Miller led the Swarthmore women to victory with three race wins (1000, 500, 200 freestyles) and 27 points. Strong performances from the freshmen class led the men's team, with Daniel Duncan earning two race victories (200 freestyle, 200 butterfly) and a medley second in his first collegiate race.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Sophomore Genny Pezzola recorded 14 kills to break the program record for kills in a single season (372), helping the No.4 seed Garnet (19-9) defeat No. 5 Muhlenberg College 3-1 in the opening round of the Centennial Conference playoffs on Wednesday night from Tarble Pavilion. The Garnet's 3-1 victory over the Mules is its first playoff victory in program history, with the team now moving on to Saturday's semifinal against No. 1 Haverford.
