Garnet Slay Knights in 3-1 Comeback Victory

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Senior Morgan Langley's game-tying goal from the top of the box in the 57th minute sparked a three-goal second half to propel the No. 5 Swarthmore men's soccer team (7-0) to a commanding 3-1 victory over the Arcadia Knights (3-4) on Tuesday night from Clothier field.

The win marks Eric Wagner's 100th victory as Swarthmore's head coach.

Garnet Women, NYU Play to 2-2 Tie

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Seniors Megan Colombo and Kirsten Peterson each scored second-half goals for the Swarthmore College women's soccer team (2-3-1), but visiting NYU (2-5-1) responded with two late second half goals of their own, as the Garnet and Violets played to a 2-2 tie on Sunday afternoon from Clothier Field Stadium.

Erin Haggerty scored both second-half goals for the Violets, who erased a 2-0 Garnet lead with goals in the 70th and 87th minutes.

Goalkeeper Marie Mutryn played an outstanding game for the Garnet between the pipes, equaling a career-high with 12 saves, including an acrobatic save in the first overtime to preserve the tie. Read the rest of this entry »

CARLISLE, Pa. - In his first collegiate race,  freshman Robert Fain was the top finisher for the Swarthmore College men's cross country team in the long race, while sophomore Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey led the Garnet in the short race as Swat combined to earn a 10th place overall team finish at the Dickinson Long/Short on Saturday afternoon.
