Garnet Men Take 10th at Dickinson Long/Short Race

CARLISLE, Pa. - In his first collegiate race,  freshman Robert Fain was the top finisher for the Swarthmore College men's cross country team in the long race, while sophomore Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey led the Garnet in the short race as Swat combined to earn a 10th place overall team finish at the Dickinson Long/Short on Saturday afternoon.

Fain finished 27th in the long race.

Fain finished in a time of 27:31, good for 27th overall in the meet with competiton ranging from Division I to Division III. Following Fain for the Garnet was sophomore Bill King ( 27:42) who finished with a personal best time and  freshman Stuart Russell (28:14), who was also competing in his first collegiate race.

In the short race, DuMont-McCaffrey led the Swat pack with a time of 12:55, followed by senior Patrick Hartnett (13:21) and King (13:44).

It's a short turnaround for the Garnet, as it competes in the Quint Race at Haverford College on Tuesday.
