ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Muhlenberg sophomore Alexandra Chili scored 20 of her game-high 26 points in the first half, as the No. 17 Mules used a hot-shooting first half (61.3%) to get past the Swarthmore College women's basketball team 71-43 on Wednesday evening from Memorial Hall on the campus of Muhlenberg College.

Junior Kathryn Stockbower led the way for the Garnet (9-12, 6-10) with 15 points and 15 rebounds, good for the 60th double-double of her career. Read the rest of this entry »

Swarthmore College Garnet Mens Soccer Hosts 8th Annual Benefit Youth Clinic

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College Garnet men's soccer team hosted its 8th annual benefit youth soccer clinic on Saturday, January 30th, raising over $600 for the relief agency Genocide Intervention Network (www.genocideintervention.net).  In addition to learning basic skills, such as passing, dribbling, and defending, over 40 children had a chance to play matches against each other during the two-hour clinic.  Members of Swarthmore STAND, G. I. Net's student-spokespeople at the College, also briefed the children and their parents about the terrible humanitarian situation in Darfur,  Sudan. Read the rest of this entry »

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Junior Kathryn Stockbower scored 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds while junior Ceylan Bodur and freshman Madeline Ross each scored 15 points against visiting McDaniel (15-4, 13-2 CC), but the Swarthmore College women's basketball team (9-11, 6-9 CC) fell in heartbreaking fashion once again, 71-66 on Monday evening from Tarble Pavilion. LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore Genny Pezzola lit up the court on Saturday night draining eight 3-pointers for a career high 24 points to lead the Garnet (9-10, 6-8 CC) past Franklin & Marshall (8-11, 4-10 CC) in a wild  88-83 double-overtime victory. Pezzola sealed the deal in dramatic fashion with a three in the final two minutes of the second overtime.  Senior Pam Costello tacked on four 3-pointers of her own for a season high 18 points.
