SWARTHMORE, Pa. - It certainly was a year to remember for Swarthmore Athletics: seven playoff teams, three All-Americans, 11 first-team Centennial Conference members, six Centennial gold medalists and one national champion and American record holder. With the 2009-10 season officially in the rear view, the Swarthmore College Department of Athletics has decided to let the fans vote on the top Swarthmore Athletics moment of the past year.
Throughout the month of June, fans will be able to vote for their favorite Swarthmore moments via the poll at the bottom of the page. Lasting from June 2 to June 15, the current poll features 12 of top moments from the 2009-10 season selected by the Swarthmore Department of Athletics. On June 16, the list of 12 will be narrowed down to five, with the five moments receiving the most votes moving to a final poll, which will last from June 16 to June 30. SKILLMAN, N.J. - Senior Rachel Wallwork of the Swarthmore College women's tennis team was awarded the ITA Atlantic South Region Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award for Division III women's tennis, the organization recently announced.
The ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award recognizes outstanding individuals in all divisions at the regional and national level. SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Senior Rachel Wallwork (women's tennis), senior Anne Miller (women's swimming) and sophomore Travis Pollen (men's swimming) were recently named to the ESPN the Magazine/Cosida Academic All-District II Team, as voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

PHILADELPHIA -- Swarthmore College student-athletes Kathryn Stockbower '11 (women's basketball), Maithili Parikh '10 (badminton) and Sterling Satterfield '10 (men's swimming) have all been selected as Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Stars for their respective winter sports, the paper announced on Wednesday.
Stockbower was recognized as the women's basketball Performer of the Year, becoming the ninth Swarthmore student-athlete to receive Performer of the Year accolades and first women's basketball player. She joins Rachel Wallwork '10 (women's tennis), Caitlin Mullarkey '09 (track & field, women's soccer) Erin Heaney '09 (volleyball), Vernon Chaplin ’07 (cross country), Reuben Heyman-Kantor ’06 (men’s soccer), Ian McCormick ’08 (men’s basketball), Frank Mazzucco ’08 (men’s lacrosse) and Eric Zwick ’07 (golf) as Performer of the Year winners.
LANCASTER, Pa. -- 47 Swarthmore College student-athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the 2010 spring season, the Conference announced on Friday. The honor roll recognizes athletes' performance both on the field and in the classroom.
To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, a starter or key reserve on his or her team or have qualified for the Conference championship meet.
