GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Swarthmore senior shortstop Katherine Gold drove in three runs and sophomore Kathryn Riley struck out 10 batters as the Swarthmore softball team completed its six-game North Carolina road trip by splitting a double header at Guilford College Thursday afternoon.
The Garnet (2-4) fell 5-4 in game one and then came back in the second affair to win 7-1.

PINEHURST, N.C. -- Swarthmore junior Michael Bernasek shot a 38 on the front and sophomore Jeffrey Lazarus followed with a 39 on the back side as the Garnet picked up its first victory of the season, defeating the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg Wednesday afternoon on the No. 4 course at the Pinehurst Resort, site of the 2008 U.S. Amateur.

The women’s tennis team departed rain soaked Swarthmore on Friday, March 7, and arrived in sun-drenched Madrid, Spain on Saturday. Clearing customs is generally a tedious process, but on this day the authorities seemed to happily welcome us to their country. We passed through without a glitch, in record time.
