SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College Department of Athletics and the Garnet Sports Network has released the live video and audio schedule for the 2010 spring sports season. The network will provide free live video from Clothier Field and free audio from the Clothier baseball and softball fields, totalingover 40 Swarthmore athletic events during the spring season.
During the 2009 fall and winter sports seasons, the Garnet Sports Network attracted over 8,500 viewers from all 50 states and 16 countries around the globe.

RALEIGH, N.C. – It was a sour ending to the North Carolina Spring Break trip for the Swarthmore College softball team (2-6), as Meredith (10-6) pitchers held the Garnet offense to just one run over two games, as the Avenging Angels defeated Swat 2-0 and 5-1 on Friday evening.
Senior Kathryn Riley pitched well despite not picking up a win on the day, allowing just one earned run while tossing 10.2 innings on the day. Riley also got it done at the plate for the Garnet, finishing the day 3-of-5 from the plate.

RALEIGH, N.C. – A struggling offense doomed the Swarthmore softball team (2-4) on Wednesday afternoon as the Peace College Pacers (12-6, 1-1) took down the Garnet in two five-inning games from the Wachovia Athletic Park. Swarthmore lost game one 11-0 and game two 8-0.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Swarthmore softball team (2-2) got off to a rough start on its spring break campaign as Guilford College (10-3-1) lit up Garnet pitching en route to a 13-2 and 14-6 sweep of the doubleheader.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Opening-season nerves weren’t a problem for senior Kathryn Riley and the Swarthmore College softball team, as Riley dominated the Morrisville State Mustangs, throwing her second career no-hitter to lead the Garnet (2-0) to a 13-0 win over the Mustangs in the first game of a doubleheader. Swat finished the sweep in the second game with a 12-10 win.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Following a 2009 season that was derailed by injuries and just plain bad luck, the Swarthmore College softball team has high hopes that it can quickly rebound in 2010 and continue its recent run of success on the softball diamond.
Head coach Renee Clarke, who enters her seventh season with the Garnet, will be looking to improve the upon last year’s 5-11 record in the Centennial Conference and maintains optimism that this squad has what it takes to return to the postseason.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Swarthmore pitcher Kathryn Riley ’10 tossed her third career no-hitter and classmate Michele Perch accounted for five hits and three RBIs as the Garnet softball team swept McDaniel on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at Clothier Fields.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Swarthmore freshman shortstop Elizabeth Cushing had three doubles and drove in four runs while Garnet hurler Kathryn Riley ’10 tossed a complete-game shutout as the Swarthmore softball team split a Centennial doubleheader with rival Haverford Saturday afternoon at Clothier Fields.
