Krainock Leads Swat Golf to Third Place Finish

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – Freshman Kyle Krainock shot a 79 on Monday afternoon to lead the Garnet golf team to a third place finish in its five team invitational at Rolling Green Country Club. The team shot a 333 finishing behind Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior Rachel Wallwork picked up her 22nd consecutive victory in Centennial Conference singles play while freshmen Emily Rosenblum and Kelsey Johnson remained unbeaten in Conference singles play as the Swarthmore College women’s tennis team (8-3, 6-0) defeated Ursinus 8-1 on Saturday afternoon from the College.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – It’s been quite a week for senior Tyler Bradshaw.

Three days after leading the Swarthmore College men’s lacrosse team (3-7, 1-5) to its first Centennial Conference victory of the season, the senior attacker scored a career-high five goals, including the game winner with 3:33 left to play as the Garnet defeated Christopher Newport 11-9 on Saturday afternoon from Stonewall Jackson High School.

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior Kathryn Riley (7-8) dominated homestanding McDaniel from the mound, picking up two victories after striking out eight batters over two games while allowing just four runs on the day as the Swarthmore College softball team (13-17, 5-6) swept a doubleheader with the Green Terror 4-3 and 4-1 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.

Streaking Garnet Take Two From Gettysburg, 11-6 and 12-6

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – It was a doubles party for Swarthmore in its doubleheader from Gettysburg, as the Garnet finished the day with nine doubles as part of a 26 hit, 21 run offensive explosion, sweeping the twinbill with the Bullets 11-6 and 12-6 on Saturday afternoon from the Battlefield.

Swarthmore (15-11, 7-5) has now won three consecutive games and with 15 victories on the season, has surpassed last season’s conference and overall win totals and reached its highest program win total since 1996 (17).
