Hammond, DeLuca Shine to Lead Garnet Track at TCNJ

RESULTS

EWING, N.J. - Freshman Rebecca Hammond  and senior Lauren DeLuca finished 1-2 in the women's 800 meter run to lead the Swarthmore College women's outdoor track & field team at the TCNJ Invitational on a brisk and windy Saturday afternoon.
The times were both season bests for Hammond and DeLuca, who appear to be peaking at just the right time before Centennials.

Sophomore Margret Lenfest booked a spot in the Centennial Championships in the 1500 meter run, crossing the line in a time of 5:07.67 - good enough for sixth place.

In the high jump, sophomore Nicole Cox finished fifth with a jump of 4-10.25.

Freshman Mariam Vonderheide took sixth in the competitive 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.34.

In the javelin, freshman Sarah Diamond had a personal-best throw of 65-5.

Swarthmore returns to the track on Friday with the two-day Widener Invite.
