Krainock Leads Swat Golf to Third Place Finish
SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Freshman Kyle Krainock shot a 79 on Monday afternoon to lead the Garnet golf team to a third place finish in its five team invitational at Rolling Green Golf Club. The team shot a 333 finishing behind Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania.
The Swarthmore College men's golf team had a rough day on the links with only one player shooting under 80. Sophomore Paul Weston would shoot Swat's second best score of the day with an 81.
Senior Jeff Lazarus brought in the third low round for the Garnet with an 86 while sophomore Alex Nichamin and freshman Jake Carter both finished with an 87.
Swarthmore topped both La Salle University (337) and Harford Community College (373). Drexel University took the top spot shooting a 309.
Drexel's James Braunsberg and Penn's Phil Winters shot the day's low scores, each with four over par 74s.
The Swat golf team is back in action on Tuesday April 14 when they travel to Stonewall Golf Club to face off against Ursinus College. Play begins at 1 PM.
