Ursinus Downs Garnet Baseball 7-0 in Rain-Shortened Game

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus starting pitcher Corey Weaver limited the Swarthmore College baseball team (16-12, 8-6) to no runs and just one hit over five innings, as the Bears got past the Garnet 7-0 in a five-inning game shortened by rain on Friday evening.

Lazarus Takes Home First Place at Immaculata Invite; Swat Takes Second Overall

AVONDALE, Pa. – Senior Jeff Lazarus carded a three over-par 73 to tie for first place in the field of 58 golfers and led the Swarthmore College golf team to a second place finish in the Immaculata Invitational with an overall score of 316 on Thursday afternoon from Inniscrone Golf Club.

Musynske Nets Game Winner as Garnet Lax Wins Rollercoaster Game Over Drew, 8-7 (2OT)

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior Gavin Musynske scored the game-winning goal with :10 seconds left in the second overtime on a contested shot from the left wing, as the Swarthmore College men’s lacrosse team (4-7, 1-5) defeated Drew 8-7 in a double-overtime thriller on Wednesday evening from Clothier Field Stadium.

The wild contest saw the Garnet shut out the visiting Rangers (6-4, 3-0) for the first 44 minutes of play, building a 6-0 lead late into the third period, only to see Drew come back and score seven unanswered goals over a 10-minute stretch throughout the third and fourth periods to miraculously take the lead at 7-6 with just 5:18 left to play in the game.

Swat Tennis Falls to No. 8 Hopkins for First Centennial Conference Loss

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men’s tennis team (6-9, 5-1 CC) lost its first Centennial Conference match on Wednesday night as the No. 8 Johns Hopkins Blue Jays (13-4, 6-0 CC) shut down the Garnet 8-1.

ELVERSON, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men’s golf team finished sixth in a field of 13 at the Ursinus Invitational on a rainy Tuesday from Stonewall Golf Club. The Garnet brought in a score of 334, edging Cabrini by two strokes.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior Rachel Wallwork won her 23rd consecutive Centennial Conference singles match – besting Johns Hopkins’ Carolyn Warren 6-2, 6-2 – but it wasn’t enough to help the Swarthmore College women’s tennis team (8-4, 6-1) overtake the mighty Blue Jays, as No. 13 Hopkins prevailed 8-1 on Tuesday evening from the Mullan Center.

doubleheader (vs. Washington) and baseball game (vs. Ursinus) from the College. The baseball game has been rescheduled for tomorrow (3:30), while softball is still to be determined.
