Riley Stifles Green Terror to Lead Swat to Doubleheader Sweep

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Senior Kathryn Riley (7-8) dominated homestanding McDaniel from the mound, picking up two victories after striking out eight batters over two games while allowing just four runs on the day as the Swarthmore College softball team (13-17, 5-6) swept a doubleheader with the Green Terror 4-3 and 4-1 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.

Streaking Garnet Take Two From Gettysburg, 11-6 and 12-6

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – It was a doubles party for Swarthmore in its doubleheader from Gettysburg, as the Garnet finished the day with nine doubles as part of a 26 hit, 21 run offensive explosion, sweeping the twinbill with the Bullets 11-6 and 12-6 on Saturday afternoon from the Battlefield.

Swarthmore (15-11, 7-5) has now won three consecutive games and with 15 victories on the season, has surpassed last season’s conference and overall win totals and reached its highest program win total since 1996 (17).

Swat Tennis Splits on Saturday with Loss to Mary Washington and Win Over Ursinus

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men’s tennis (6-8, 5-0 CC) team lost to Mary Washington (8-10) on Saturday 6-3 but remained unbeaten in Centennial Conference play with a 9-0 rout of the Ursinus Bears (5-9, 0-6 CC) in their afternoon match on Faulkner Courts.

Freshmen Steal Show as Swat Golf Blows By USP, 313-346

WILMINGTON, Del. – Freshmen Jake Carter and Kyle Krainock stole the show for the Swarthmore College golf team, shooting a career-low 74 and 75 respectively to lead the Garnet past the Philadelphia University of the Sciences 313-346 on a windy Friday afternoon from the Rock Manor Golf Club.

Riley to the Rescue as Swat Softball Splits With Arcadia

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior pitcher Kathryn Riley struck out seven batters while allowing just two hits in four innings of relief work in the first game to lead the Swarthmore College softball team (11-17) to a split with Arcadia on Thursday evening from the College. Behind the performance of Riley, Swat took the first game 9-4 while the Knights (9-12) rallied to take the second game 8-0.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women’s lacrosse team (6-5, 0-4 CC) lost its first non-conference game since 2008 on Thursday afternoon as the Widener Pride (7-3, 3-1 MAC) edged the Garnet with 10-9 victory on Clothier Field.

Garnet Lax Ends Two Losing Streaks With 11-7 Win Over Washington College

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men’s lacrosse team (2-7, 1-5) picked up its first Centennial Conference victory of the season – and ended a 57-year drought against Washington College in the process.

Senior Tyler Bradshaw tied a career-high with four goals, while senior Gavin Musynske, sophomore John Bukawyn and freshman Wes Marcik each scored two goals as the Garnet topped the Shoremen 11-7 on a warm, summer-like Wednesday evening from Clothier Field Stadium.
