Garnet Women Downed by Washington Shorewomen 71-67

CHESTERTOWN, MD – Junior Ceylan Bodur dropped 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the year, but her efforts weren’t enough to lift the Garnet (2-5, 1-4 CC) on as the road as Washington College (3-5, 3-2 CC) defeated the Swarthmore 71-67 on Wednesday night in the Cain Athletic Center.

Stockbower Scores 1,000, But Garnet Fall to Late-Charging Ursinus 64-59

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Junior Kathryn Stockbower became the seventh player in Swarthmore College women’s basketball history to reach 1,000 career points, scoring 19 points and pulling down 11 rebounds, but visiting Ursinus rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat the Garnet 64-59 on Saturday afternoon from Tarble Pavilion.

Stockbower/Bodur Combo Strong Again, But Garnet Fall to Johns Hopkins 76-65

BALTIMORE – Swarthmore’s one-two punch of junior Kathryn Stockbower and senior Ceylan Bodur combined for 46 of the Garnet’s 65 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a balanced Johns Hopkins’ attack that saw four different players reach double figures, as the homestanding Blue Jays defeated the Garnet 76-65 in Centennial Conference women’s basketball action on Thursday night.

Stockbower finished with 21 points – leaving her just 11 points shy of becoming just the seventh player in program history to reach 1,000 career points – while pulling down 13 rebounds. Bodur scored a game-high 25 points on 7-of-14 shooting.

WESTMINTER, Md. – Junior Kathryn Stockbower hit the game-winning lay-up with 3.4 seconds remaining in the game, highlighting a 30 point, 13 rebound performance from the preseason All-American as the Swarthmore College women’s basketball team (2-2, 1-1) picked up its first conference victory of the season with a thrilling 51-49 win over McDaniel on Tuesday evening.

Garnet Sports Network Announces Live Video Schedule for Winter Sports

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College Department of Athletics and the Garnet Sports Network has announced the live video schedule for the 2009-10 winter sports season. The network will provide free live video with commentary from Tarble Pavilion for 13 men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as live audio from selected road contests.

Stockbower, Bodur Light Up Scoreboard, But Garnet Lose 94-85 Shootout to Dickinson

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Junior Kathryn Stockbower scored 32 points and pulled down 15 rebounds while junior Ceylan Bodur netted a career-high 30 points, but a 55 point second-half outburst from visiting Dickinson was enough to give the Red Devils a 94-85 victory on Tuesday evening from Tarble Pavilion.
