Garnet Tennis Earns Academic Accolades

SKILLMAN, N.J. — Swarthmore College men’s and women’s tennis programs have both been recognized as 2008 Division III All-Academic Teams by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Eight Garnet individuals were selected as Scholar Athletes.

Sendelsky Named ECAC All-Star

CENTERVILLE, Mass. — Swarthmore softball player Christine Sendelsky was named to the 2008 Division III Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Softball All-Star team on June 18. Sendelsky, a junior captain, was a second-team selection.

Garnet Pair Named Scholar Athletes, Selected for North/South Game

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Garnet seniors Frank Mazzucco and Dan Sartori were among 61 lacrosse players recently named Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). Both men were also tabbed as alternates for the 2008 USILA Division III North-South Senior All-Star Game.

Mazzucco, Wallwork Named Academic All-District

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Swarthmore College senior Frank Mazzucco and sophomore Rachel Wallwork have been named to the 2008 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II Team, as voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Mazzucco is a first-team selection in the College Division while Wallwork earned second-team status.
