Garnet Tennis Earns Academic Accolades

SKILLMAN, N.J. -- Swarthmore College men's and women's tennis programs have both been recognized as 2008 Division III All-Academic Teams by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Eight Garnet individuals were selected as Scholar Athletes.

In order to earn the ITA Scholar-Athlete status a student-athlete must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).

Suneal Bedi '09 (Miami, Fla. / Everglades), Justin diFeliciantonio '10 (Columbus, Ga. / Hardaway) and Noah Pang '11 (Cambridge, Mass. / Buckingham Brown & Nichols) were listed among the 230 male student-athletes who were selected as individuals as Scholar Athletes.

Erica Lukoski '08 (Shoreham, N.Y. / Shoreham-Wading River), Jamie Midyette '08 (Chesapeake, Va. / Western Branch), Marissa Lee '09 (Cary, N.C. / Cary Academy), Rachel Wallwork '10 (Washington, D.C. / Georgetown Day) and Kathryn Stockbower '11 (Ft. Washington, Pa. / Upper Dublin) represented the Swarthmore women as Scholar Athletes.
