PEORIA, Ariz. – The Swarthmore College baseball team’s Spring Break trip ended in heartbreaking fashion, as a wild pitch from sophomore Zach Weiner in the bottom of the 10th inning proved to be the difference as Wesleyan rallied from a four-run eighth inning deficit to defeat the Garnet 11-10 in 10 innings on Friday afternoon from the Padres Spring Training Facility in Peoria, Arizona.
With the defeat, the Garnet finish the Arizona trip with a 3-5 record.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Swarthmore College baseball team’s impressive start to the 2010 start came to halt on Wednesday afternoon in the desert, as the Garnet (3-2) were swept by unbeaten Wesleyan 18-9 and 8-5 from Desert Edge High School.
Swat’s loss in the second half of the doubleheader was a particularly tough defeat, as the Cardinal (5-0) rallied from down 3-1 in fifth inning of the seven inning contest, while sophomore Spencer Ross saw his potential game-tying three-run home run robbed by a spectacular catch by the Wesleyan right-fielder off the wall.
