Gershenson Leads Garnet at Haverford Duals to Open the Cross Country Season

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team opened its 2010 campaign this weekend at the Haverford Duals.  Leading the charge for the Garnet was junior Zach Gershenson who finished the race in a swift 17:35.

Gershenson was followed by sophomore Danny Cramer, senior Christopher Mayer-Bacon, and sophomore Charlie Huntington who finished with times of 18:10, 18:40, and 18:50 respectively.

The next group of finishers for the men's team was lead by junior Chris Shea who completed the race in a solid 19:52. He was followed by junior Dan Stair '12 (20:06), sophomore Eric Verhasselt (20:34), sophomore Matthew Heck (21:04), and junior Dan Ly (22:01).

The men's team will look to build upon their solid season opener at noon on September 11th, here at Swarthmore where the team will compete against alumni in it's annual Alumni Meet.
