Swat Baseball Knocks Out Shoremen with 5-1 Win

BALTIMORE, Md. - The Swarthmore College baseball team (20-17) sent the Washington Shoremen (17-16) packing with a 5-1 victory in the round two elimination game of the Centennial Conference baseball playoffs on Blue Jay Diamond. 

Crawford pitched a complete game to pick up the win for Swarthmore.

Sophomore Kyle Crawford picked up the win on the mound, throwing a complete game, fanning three batters and giving up only six hits.

A two-RBI double off the bat of sophomore Mike Waterhouse would spark the Swat offense in the second inning to give the Garnet an early 3-1 lead.

In the next inning sophomore Spencer Ross would put the game out of reach for Washington with a homerun over the left field fence.

The Garnet would tack on one more run in the sixth inning off of an RBI single off the bat of sophomore Anthony Montalbano.

Waterhouse would lead the Swat offense with four hits, two RBIs and a run scored.

Swarthmore returns to the diamond at 4 PM for the semifinal round of the Centennial Conference playoffs.
