Swimmer Travis Pollen Breaks American Paralympic Record in 100 Freestyle

LANCASTER, Pa. - Swarthmore College men's swimmer Travis Pollen '12 broke the paralympic S9 American record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.80 while competing for the Garnet at the Centennial Conference Championships on Sunday evening from Franklin & Marshall College.

Pollen (Elkins Park, Pa. - Abington) is an above-knee amputee and  member of the Garnet men's swimming team that finished in second place at the Centennial Conference championships.  Pollen broke the record in Sunday's time trials.

After breaking the six-year old record, Pollen will now set his sights on the  U.S. spring nationals in San Antonio on March 25-27.
