LANCASTER, Pa. - On the final day of the Centennial Conference Championships, the Swarthmore College men's swim team held on for a decisive second-place team finish with 732 points, 113 points behind host and champion Franklin & Marshall on Sunday evening from Lancaster.

On the women's side, it was senior Anne Miller who stole the show once again for the Garnet, taking home a gold medal by clocking in with an NCAA A-cut time in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.14). As a team, the Garnet women finished in fifth place with 407 points.

In the 200-yard butterfly, Miller's 2:04.14 gold medal time led the way as the Garnet women owned the race going one-two-three with senior Casey Osborn (2:11.11) capturing silver and freshman Hannah Gotwals (2:12.35) taking home the bronze.

Freshman Jake Benveniste paced the Garnet men in the opening event of the finals capturing a silver and setting a new Swarthmore College record time in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:21.25.  Benveniste also won a bronze in the 500-yard free on day one of competition. The 1650 free was all about Garnet freshmen as Tyler Hanson (16:26.89) and Josh Satre (16:30.22) finished four and five closely behind freshman classmate Benveniste.

Junior Sterling Satterfield earned his third medal of the championships, coming in second on Sunday in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:08.76 only six-tenths of a second off of an NCAA B-cut time.

Sophomore Sam Bullard-Sisken swam strong in the 200-yard backstroke but fell just short of a medal finishing fourth by less than second with a time of 1:56.58.

Sophomore Naomi Glassman also finished strong in the 200 fly closely behind her teammates in the sixth place spot with a time of 2:16.74.

The second-place finish by the Garnet men is its fourth-consecutive at the Conference meet.

Miller will now move on to the NCAA Division III Championships from Minnesota on March 11-13.
