SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore women’s basketball team (7-10, 4-8 CC) hoped to upset the visiting No. 12 Muhlenberg Mules, (13-2, 10-1 CC) but a 12-2 run to start the second half stunted the Garnet’s chances as the Mules controlled the second half to earn a 69-54 victory on Monday night in Tarble Pavilion.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College Garnet women’s basketball team hosted 36 girls from the Swarthmore Rutledge School for a clinic on Thursday January 14th. The third through the sixth graders participated in an hour of drills, shooting, and competition. The girls were separated into multi-age and multi-skilled groups; each group coached by two of the Garnet team members. The young athletes learned correct shooting and dribbling forms, practiced passing, and competed in a dribbling/lay-up competition to end the session.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – For the second-consecutive season, the Swarthmore College men’s basketball team (4-13, 3-7) has stunned the Centennial Conference with an upset of Gettysburg College in Tarble Pavilion.
Freshman Will Gates recorded a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds while fellow freshman Jordan Martinez added 12 points and six assists as the Garnet upset the first-place Bullets 58-51 on Saturday afternoon.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Early domination by both the men’s and women’s swimming teams powered Swarthmore past the visiting Cabrini Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon from Ware Pool. The Garnet women (3-3, 1-2 CC) won 148-88 while the Garnet men (3-3, 2-1 CC) won 74-55.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Ahead by as many as 11 points in the second half, the Swarthmore College women’s basketball team (7-9, 4-7 CC) saw the lead dwindle late in the second half as No. 24 Gettysburg (14-2, 9-2 CC) rallied to defeat the Garnet in overtime 60-57 on Saturday afternoon from Tarble Pavilion.

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford’s Sam Permutt scored 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds while three other Fords reached double-figures as homestanding Haverford (5-10, 3-6) used a 12-1 run early in second half to defeat the Swarthmore College men’s basketball team 70-58 on Wednesday evening in Centennial Conference action.
