Frick Earns All-Region Honors, Freshmen Pace Garnet Men at NCAA Cross Country Mideast Regional Meet

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Sophomore Melissa Frick made an impressive return to competition for the Garnet women, pacing Swarthmore with a 23:09 run, good enough for 35th place and All-Region honors, leading the Garnet women's to a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Mideast Regionals. On the men's side, freshmen John McMinn, Jacob Phillips and Brian King led the pace for the Swarthmore men’s cross country team in the NCAA Mideast Regional meet; all finishing in under 27 minutes.  The Garnet men finished 14th

The Garnet men raced to a 14th place team finish in the NCAA regional race improving from last season's 19th place finish.  Swarthmore's young talent shined once again with freshmen Phillips finishing 54th, McMinn finishing 60th and King crossing the finish line in 62nd.

In the women's race, Frick made return to the course known, racing to a 35th place finish out of 800 runners.  Frick's effort led the way for a Swarthmore ninth place team finish.  Seniors Rebecca Woo, Ashley Davies, Nyika Corbett, and Lauren Deluca all finished within the top 75.

The NCAA National race will take place on Friday November 21st at 11 AM in Cleveland, Ohio.
