Corbett Takes Fourth To Lead Cross Country at Dickinson
Carlisle, Pa. - Senior Nykia Corbett finished in fourth place in the long run as the Swarthmore women's cross country team opened up the 2009 season with a third-place finish at the Dickinson Long-Short Run on Saturday afternoon.
The Garnet finished with a total of 32 points in the long race, trailing only conference rivals Gettysburg (1st, 18) and host Dickinson (2nd, 31) in the 21-team field.
Corbett led the way for the Garnet in the long race, coming in fourth place with a time of 23.10.5. She was followed in the Top 20 by sophomore Hannah Rose (14, 24:10.7), senior Ashley Davies (17, 24:18.7) and junior Becca Woo (19, 24:31.4).
The Garnet return to action on Thursday, when it travels to Haverford for the Main Line Invitational.
