Waterhouse Named CC Hitter of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. -- Freshman catcher Mike Waterhouse was selected as the Centennial Conference Hitter of the Week on March 16, as announced by the Conference office.
Waterhouse (Weston, Conn. / Weston) is the first Swarthmore hitter to earn Centennial weekly honors since outfielder Matt Goldstein ’04 captured the accolade during the week of April 26, 2004.
Leading the Conference in hitting and on-base percentage (.652) after 11 games, Waterhouse posted a .556 batting average with a .778 slugging percentage while seeing time at both catcher and outfield positions. He has scored eight runs with three stolen bases, and 15 hits including two triples and two doubles.
The Garnet are off to a strong start in 2009, posting 6-5 overall record. On slate for this week, Swarthmore will face non-conference opponents Neumann, DeSales, PSU-Berks and Misericordia.
