Nesterak Named CC Offensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore senior Evan Nesterak was named Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer, as announced by the Centennial Conference office on Monday morning.

Nesterak (Parker, Colo. / Ponderosa) scored a pair of game-winning goals this past week as the Garnet defeated Muhlenberg and arch-rival Haverford by 1-0 counts.

With his goal on Oct. 29th against Muhlenberg, the forward notched his 20th career goal which entered him into the program's top-10 all-time list. Later in the week, Nesterak entered the Garnet history books again on the all-time top-10 list with his 44th career point.

Nesterak is the fourth Garnet male to earn Conference weekly honors this year, joining classmates Yoi Tibbets and Jason Thrope (Oct. 7), and goalkeeper Zach Weimar '10 (Sept. 2).

Nesterak leads Swarthmore (14-2-1, 8-1 CC), recently ranked 11th by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), with a career-high eight goals in 2008.  He ranks third in the Centennial for goals per game (0.47).
