Garnet Men To Host Conference Championships
SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- The Centennial Conference Men's Soccer Championships makes the first-ever appearance at Clothier Field this coming weekend.
The 11th-ranked Swarthmore squad (14-2-1 overall, 8-1 CC) has posted one of the best regular seasons in program history, earning the top seed for this weekend’s festivities. This will be the fourth Conference playoff appearance in five seasons under current Swarthmore head coach Eric Wagner.
The Garnet will face off against the No. 4 seed Dickinson Red Devils (11-4-2, 5-2-2 CC), to be played in Carlisle, Pa., 1-0 winners over Muhlenberg in first-round action. Swarthmore defeated then-No. 23 Red Devils on Sept. 27. Swarthmore takes Clothier Field in the second semifinal 60 minutes following the first contest, with the start approximately 1:30 p.m.
The first Centennial semifinal is set to kick-off at 11:00 a.m., with the No. 2 seed Gettysburg Bullets (9-4-4, 5-2-2 CC) taking on the two-time defending champion Johns Hopkins (11-4-3, 5-2-2 CC), currently ranked 10th in Division III.
