Lazarus Claims Sixth at Glenmaura
MOOSIC, Pa. -- Garnet sophomore Jeffrey Lazarus posted top-ten finish at the renowned Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational this past weekend in northeast Pennsylvania.
The Garnet totaled a team score of 679 to finish in eleventh position. Centennial-rival McDaniel earned top honors with a 599.
Lazarus (Woodcliffe, N.J. / Pascack Hills), who was the low man in the first round with a school record one-under 70, started out slow with a front-nine 45. The sophomore rallied on the backside with a 37 to finish the morning with an 82 and a two-day total of 152 (good for sixth place out of 60 golfers).
Scott Cruff from Susquehanna took medalist honors with total of 145 (71-74).
The Garnet take off for the Pennsylvania-Maryland border where the 2008 Centennial Conference Championships on April 25-27 at the Bridges Golf Course.
