Dragons Patrol Rolling Green
SPRINGFIELD, Pa. -- Swarthmore sophomore Jeffrey Lazarus posted a team-low score of 80 at Rolling Green Golf Club Monday afternoon as the Garnet fell to a Division-I opponent, the Drexel Dragons, in the final home match of the season.
Drexel, fresh off a second-place finish at the Lafayette Invitational, bested the Garnet in the team scoring 305 to 356.
Lazarus (Woodcliffe, N.J. / Pascack Hills) (left) posted his fourth top-five finish in seven events, taking four place. Classmate Kelly Schoolmeester (Irmo, S.C. / Irmo) posted his collegiate-best score, carding an 87 at the par-71 course.
Drexel’s Sean Semencte earned medalist honors with a two-over 73, followed on the leaderboard by teammates Myles Vlachos (75) and Trevor Sahn (76).
The Garnet head to the Poconos this weekend for the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational, a two-day tournament hosted at the Glenmaura Golf Club in Moosic, Pa. on April 20-21 with tee times of 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
