Baseball Holds 2nd Annual Ponytail Day

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- The Swarthmore baseball team held their second annual "Ponytail Day" on Saturday, April 5th during a Centennial Conference double-header against Franklin & Marshall at the Clothier Fields.
During the 2nd Annual Ponytail Day, Swarthmore junior pitcher  Dylan "Ponytail" Smith (Pictured right) donated his famous ponytail to the Locks of Love organization. Fans and spectators watched during the break between the double-header games as Smith parted with his ponytail.

Locks of Love (click for more information) is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

The Locks of Love mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children. The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need.
