LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore sophomore Ashley Davies (New Providence, N.J. / Hunterdon Central) was named to the 2007 All-Centennial Conference cross-country team. Davies was a second team selection.
Davies earned the All-Centennial nod by placing 13th in a time of 23:48 race at the Championships, hosted by Franklin & Marshall.
The Swarthmore women overcame the wet conditions at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Oct. 27th totaling 122 points to place fourth. The Garnet trailed champion Dickinson (33), Haverford (52), Johns Hopkins (81), but topped Gettysburg (131), Ursinus (185), Muhlenberg (193), Franklin & Marshall (198), Bryn Mawr (252) and McDaniel (293).
Davies has been the top runner for the Garnet for much of the season. The William & Mary transfer began the season at the Delaware Valley Invitational when she placed eighth overall, finishing in 25:33. Cutting her time down by almost two minutes on Oct 3rd at the Paul Short Meet, Davies set the pace for the women and finished with a time of 23:39 for 60th place out of a pack of over 400 runners.
