Two Garnet Players Named to All-CC Team
LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore junior Anna Baeth (Frederick, Md./ Frederick) and senior Abbie Fischer (Sudbury, Mass./ Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) have been named to the 2007 All-Centennial Conference field hockey team. Both women earned a second team selection, as voted by the conference coaches.
Baeth, a junior defender, started in 16 games this season and ranked number one for the Garnet in defensive saves. Off the field Baeth, a dual-sport athlete (field hockey and lacrosse) is a sociology and anthropology double major.
Fischer, a senior forward, started all 17 games for the Garnet and ranked second in points (17). She scored seven goals this season to finish her career total at 22, this is Fischer’s first nod from the Centennial Conference for this honor.
This is the second All-Centennial nod for Baeth (second team in 2006) and the first for Fischer.
Swarthmore completed the 2007 season with an overall record of 6-11, including a 3-7 mark in Centennial play.
