#2 Bullets Bring Down Swarthmore
SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Attackman Joe Brody tallied four goals and seven other Bullets scored as Gettysburg rolled to a 12-3 victory over Swarthmore in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon on Clothier Field.
Freshman attack Tyler Bradshaw scored his ninth and tenth goals of the season and Chris Harman '08 also scored for Swarthmore (5-6, 2-5 CC).
It was all Gettysburg (11-2, 6-1 CC) right from the start as the Bullets, who are currently ranked second nationally, and are the first-place team in the Centennial Conference, jumped out to a 6-0 lead before Bradshaw put the Garnet on the board with 14:00 remaining in the third quarter.
Gettysburg won 13 of 18 face-offs and out-shot Swarthmore by a margin of 42-15.
Junior Frank Mazzucco made 13 saves in net for the Garnet, while defenders Anthony Orazio '07 and Rich Jaroncyk '07 each picked up a team-high four ground balls. Bullets goalie Pat Vaughn made three saves for the visitors.
Swarthmore will conclude the 2007 season next Saturday, April 28 at rival Haverford, a game that is set to start at 1:30.
