Moody Minimizes Marks At Muddy Edgmont

EDGMONT, Pa. -- Swarthmore senior Zach Moody used the fewest strokes to complete the par-70 Edgmont Country Club among 20 golfers in a quad match hosted by Philadelphia Biblical University sunny Friday afternoon.  The Garnet men posted a season-low 310 strokes, besting teams from Widener (316), Alvernia (329), and the Crimson Eagles (356).

Moody handed in his best scorecard of the season, a five-over par 75 to best the next individuals (Swarthmore's Eric Zwick, Widener's Matt Newton and James Presto) at 77.  Garnet sophomore David Lau was one stroke back at 78, his fourth round in the 70s this season. Freshman Jeff Lazarus (80) and senior Ed Goldstein (85) rounded out the scoring for Swarthmore.

Swarthmore have one week before the 2007 Centennial Conference Championships, set to take place at Pilgrim's Oak in Peach Bottom, Pa.  A rainy mid-week forecast may produce the same conditions seen at Edgmont.
