Garnet Warm Up at Hurricane Invitational

MEET RESULTS

MIAMI, Fla.-- Freshman Nyika Corbett finished sixth in the 3000 as the Swarthmore outdoor track & field team opened the 2007 season at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami.

Junior Ross Weller ran at a separate event, the Willie Williams Classic hosted by the University of Arizona, taking third place in the steeplechase with a time of 10:00.96.

Back in Miami, Corbett was the top Division III finisher in her event, posting a time of 10:49.04 to take sixth place among 28 participants.
Mullarkey clocked in at 1:03.23 in the 400 meter event and then put up 1:08.91 in the intermediate hurdles. Freshman Taylor Rhodes also ran strong on Saturday, breaking the 30-second barrier at 200 meters.

For the men, Connor Darby '09 ran the 800 in under two minutes (1:59.60) while senior Matt Schiller ran 400 meters in a time of 51.87.

The Garnet resume competition on March 31st at the Danny Curran Invite hosted by Widener University.
