PSU-Beaver Takes Two From Garnet

FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Senior captain Sam Faeder picked up two hits in the opening game of the 2007 season for the Swarthmore baseball team.  The Garnet (0-2) dropped both ends of a doubleheader with Penn State-Beaver during the annual spring break trip.  The Nittany Lions captured game one 10-3 and then took game two by a score of 15-1.

Faeder, the team's leader in almost every offensive category in 2006, was 2-for-4 in the first game with a run scored and a stolen base.  Classmate Noah Cooper-Harris and Travis Allen '08 also picked up a hit and a run for Swarthmore.

Sophomore outfielder Grant Yoshitsu picked up a hit for the Garnet in the second game of the afternoon.

Swarthmore continues the spring break slate with a contest versus Delaware Valley on Monday, March 12 and then tangles with Mount Saint Vincent on Wed., March 14 at 12:00 p.m.
