SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore infielder Christine Sendelsky (Edison, NJ - John P. Stevens) was named Centennial Conference Co-Hitter of the Week and Co-ECAC Player of the Week on March 27.
Sendeslksy, a freshman, continued a torrid start to her collegiate career, hitting .750 (12-for-16) with four doubles, five RBIs, and seven runs in six games for Swarthmore. The freshman is in the midst of a six-game hitting streak, including a stretch of six straight at bats with a base hit. She opened the week with a 3-for-3 game with a double and three runs scored in the first game at Rosemont and went 2-for-2 with a double, RBI, and run scored in game two. In a sweep of a twinbill vs. Penn State-Berks, Sendlesky went 5-for-6 with two doubles, two walks, four RBIs, and three runs scored.
Sendelsky leads the Conference in batting average (.500), runs (16), hits (23), and doubles (eight) and is tops on the team slugging percentage (.717), on-base percentage (.549), and total bases (33) in her first 15 games.
Sendelsky is the first Swarthmore player to earn Conference honors twice in one season.
