Crimson Eagles Down Garnet in OT

Matt Gustafson '05 scored 29 points and Jeff Maxim '07 recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds but the Garnet fell at Philadelphia Biblical 84-79 in overtime. Swarthmore drops to 1-4 on the season with its third consecutive overtime defeat.

In a game where both teams shot well from the floor, Swarthmore was 29 of 62 (46.8%) and PBU 30 of 63 (47.6%), and better from beyond the arc, Swarthmore 7 of 14 (50%) and PBU 7 of 12 (58.3%), it was the Garnet's struggle from the line in the first half, hitting just 2 of 14, that was the difference in the game.

Chris Casey '07 scored a career-high 11 points and added three assists and Dillon McGrew '07 chipped in with 10 points to pace the Garnet. Jeremy Coleman had 26 points for the Crimson Eagles.

Swarthmore travels to Ursinus on Saturday for its Centennial Conference opener at 1 pm.
