Gustafson Named CC Player of the Week

Senior Matt Gustafson (Herndon, VA - South Lakes) averaged 36 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists on the week to earn Centennial Conference Player of the Week honors for November 29.

The 6-4 forward matched his career-high by scoring 37 points in the Garnet's 75-74 overtime loss at Drew. The captain also pulled down 11 rebounds and added two blocked shots and two assists. Against Neumann, he posted 35 points and 14 rebounds for back-to-back double-doubles.

Gustafson shot 53.8% from the floor, hitting 28 of 52 attempts and was 5-for-13 from beyond the arc (38.5%) in the two games last week.

Gustafson leads the Centennial Conference in scoring, averaging 31 points per game, he is second in rebounding (10.3 pg) and is fourth in blocked shots (1.75 pg). He is also among the conference leaders in 3-pointers per game (1.75), steals per game (1.750, free throw percentage (80.8), and assists per game (2.5).

Gustafson currently ranks third on Swarthmore's all-time scoring list with 1,355 points he needs 209 points to become the Garnet's leading scorer.

The Garnet Tide is currently 1-3 on the season.
