High Tide Drowns Bears

Kaena Horowitz '05 and Anders Taylor '07 each won two events and Andrew Frampton '08 set a pool record as the Garnet (3-2, 3-0) defeated Ursinus 118-80 in a Centennial Conference meet in Collegville.

Horowitz won the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.42 and swam a leg on the winning 200 medley relay (1:48.97) with Wootae Min '07, Reid Johnson '08 and Andrew McKay to pace the Garnet to it's third straight conference victory.

Taylor cruised to a victory in the 1,000 freestyle (11:13.80) and captured the 100 butterfly (59.91) by less than a second over Andy LeClair '08 (1:00.87) to clinch the meet or the Garnet.

Mike Auerbach '05 (2:00.39) led a sweep of the 200 freestyle with LeClair (2:03.2) and Johnson (2:04.0) and Jason Horwitz '07 led a sweep of the 100 backstroke (58:73) with Min (1:00.98) and Andrew Herrmann '08 (1:02.82) as the Garnet opened up a comfortable lead.

The Garnet then swept its third straight race when Horowitz (1:06.42) touched the wall ahead of John Heagy '08 (1:06.65) and Brian Rose '06 (1:07.83)in the 100 breaststroke.

Frampton then set an Ursinus pool record when he covered the 500 freestyle in 4:57.91.

Ben Morgan '05 won the 200IM in 2:09.17 and the Garnet closed out the meet with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay as Frampton, Jeff Schneider '05, Johnson and McKay finished in 1:36.16.

The Garnet return to the pool on December 3-5 when they visit Lancaster for the F&M Invite.
