Pioneers Turn Back Tide
The Garnet jumped out to an early lead but could not hold on as Widener captured 9 of 11 events en route to a 124-81 victory at Ware Pool.
The team of Anders Taylor '07, Andrew Koczo '07, Mike Auerbach '05, and Jason Horwitz '07 won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:41.33 to stake the Garnet to an early 11-6 lead. From there Widener won the next seven events before Ben Morgan '05 touched the wall first in 4:58.61 to give the Garnet its only other win in the 500 freestyle.
The Garnet host McDaniel in the Centennial Conference opener on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
