RALEIGH, N.C. — The Swarthmore softball offense broke through Wednesday afternoon, smashing 19 hits including a home run and three RBIs from freshman Maggie Vizcarra and two doubles with three runs scored by All-Centennial junior Christine Sendelsky, splitting a doubleheader at Peace College.
FAYETVILLE, N.C. — The Swarthmore softball team opened the 2008 season against the two-time USA South Conference champion Methodist University, dropping both ends of a doubleheader to the Monarchs (12-4) Tuesday afternoon.
The Garnet softball team set about resurrecting the team house, from the ground up, in 2003 and breathing life into a once-proud structure. The 2008 tenants added two more rooms in the off-season and word just reached the house that Swarthmore is picked to finish near the top of the Centennial Conference.
