SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Seniors Danny Walker and Matt Allen each scored 10 points as the Swarthmore College men’s basketball team built a 32-27 halftime lead, only to see visiting Muhlenberg storm back in the second half, shooting a sizzling 60% from the field in the second frame to rally for the 66-53 victory over the Garnet on Wednesday evening from Tarble Pavilion.

Garnet Sports Network Announces Live Video Schedule for Winter Sports

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College Department of Athletics and the Garnet Sports Network has announced the live video schedule for the 2009-10 winter sports season. The network will provide free live video with commentary from Tarble Pavilion for 13 men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as live audio from selected road contests.

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Freshman Will Gates – playing in just his second game at Swarthmore College – scored a team-high 18 points, but it was not enough for the Garnet (0-2) who fell to Kenyon College 71-56 in the second game of the 18th Annual Equinox Classic from Gooding Arena at Haverford College on Saturday afternoon.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior Danny Walker scored 14 points and freshman Eugene Prymak scored 11 points, five blocks and a game-high eight rebounds in his collegiate debut, but it was not enough as the Garnet (0-1) fought valiantly but fell to Middlebury 65-57 in the first game of the 18th Annual Equinox Classic from Tarble Pavilion on Friday night.

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The 2009-2010 edition of the Garnet should be much improved over last year (3-21 overall, 2-16 conference) when they suffered from a numbers problem and lack of experience, exacerbated by an unusual rash of injuries and sickness. The loss of their only senior, center Raul Ordonez, will certainly be felt. He finished in the top ten in the Centennial Conference in both scoring (12.7 ppg.) and rebounding (8.3 rpg.), and tied the Swarthmore single-season record of taking charges (22).
