Knapp Leads Garnet Golf to 6th Place Finish in the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational

RESULTS

Allentown, Pa. - Freshman Kyle Knapp fired an 81 to tie for 11th place in a field of 56 players to lead the Garnet golf team at the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational on Monday at Lehigh Country Club.  Swarthmore would shoot a total score of 346, placing them in 6th out of 11 teams.  The golfing conditions were tough, complete with rain and lightning fast greens. In addition, the Swarthmore team would only span four players, instead of the usual five. Freshman Price Ferchill recorded an 84 to put him in a tie for 16th place. Freshman Jeff Wall scored 89 to place 31st and sophomore Kyle Krainock would tally a 92, good enough for 37th place.

Host team Muhlenberg would lead the field with a team score of 324.  Lucas Smith of Moravian would claim the individual title with a round of 75.

This tournament marks the final Garnet golf event of 2010.  Swarthmore will hit the links again in the spring of 2011.
