Colombo Named Conference Offensive Player of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior forward Megan Colombo of the Swarthmore College women's soccer team has been awarded the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 17, the Conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Colombo continued her torrid second-half offensive pace, scoring both goals in the Garnet's 2-1 win over Muhlenberg, while adding an assist in a 2-0 non-conference win over Stevenson. Recently crowned Swarthmore's program leader in career goals and points, Colombo has scored eight goals in Swarthmore's last five games, while recording a point in each game of the Garnet's recent five-game winning streak. She is currently tied for the conference lead in goals, with nine, points, with 20, and game-winning goals, with four. Due to the recent surge, Swarthmore has moved into a tie for first place in the Centennial Conference.
The Garnet returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when it faces Ursinus in a conference match. Play is set to begin at 4 p.m.
