LANCASTER, Pa. - Coming off its second-consecutive NCAA Sweet 16 appearance, the Swarthmore College men's soccer team finds itself ranked No.3 in the Centennial Conference Preseason Poll, which was released on Wednesday afternoon by the conference.

The Garnet returns 10 starters from last year's squad, which finished the season with a 16-2-3 record and a No. 17 ranking by the NSCAA.

Johns Hopkins was the top choice with 78 points and seven first-place votes (voters not permitted to vote for their own team). Just ahead of the Garnet in second place was Muhlenberg with 73 and two first-place votes. Swarthmore came in third with 66 points while Dickinson was fourth with 65 points and a first-place nod. Franklin & Marshall received 50 points for the fifth spot in the poll.

Swarthmore opens the 2010 season on Saturday, September 4 against Gwynedd-Mercy in the first game of the 13th Annual Garnet Alumni Classic.
