2010 Mens Cross Country Season Preview

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - With a very strong, continually-improving group of returning veterans and an exciting incoming pack of freshmen recruits, the Swarthmore College men's cross country teams returns to path in 2010, hoping to improve upon their 14th-place finish in the NCAA Mideast Region last year.

Under the senior guidance of Alex Breslow ’11 and Patrick Hartnett ’11, this young team has its sights set on developing into a regional contender this season and shaking up the Centennial Conference.

Leading the Garnet will be a group of sophomores who shined as freshmen, including John McMinn, Jacob Phillips, Brian King, Bill King, and Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey.  Also looking to have a breakout cross country season is Chris Wickham ’12, who really grew as a runner during the track seasons last year and is expected to continue to contribute with his leadership both on and off the course.

Joining the squad will be another large, talented class of freshmen who hope to thrive under the leadership of the veterans.  With such a strong, enthusiastic group of talented young men flourishing under head coach Pete Carroll, the future looks very promising for the Garnet harriers.
